About The Aberystwyth University Christian Union is a mission team made up of university students that exists to reach other students with the Good News of Jesus Christ. With this in mind, the CU aims to: - Share the Good News with every student as possible in a meaningful and Biblically-faithful way. - Ensure that every CU member is confident and capable in sharing the Good News.
Our Students who make up the CU are drawn from many church backgrounds, and are united around the truth of the Good News and a desire to share this message with friends and fellow-students at the university.
CU Life The CU holds a variety of meetings every week, to which everyone - whether Christian, non-Christian, of another faith, or simply searching - are welcome. For more details of these, see our Weekly Events page. If this does not have the information you’re looking for, please contact someone from the CU via the Contact Us page.
Our Beliefs Here at the CU we have a Doctrinal Basis which we believe contains the key teachings of Christianity as they are found in the Bible. They are the basis for our faith and teaching here at Aber CU, other UCCF CUs, and also for IFES - an organisation linking CUs in nearly 150 countries. The basis of our fellowship shall be the fundamental truths of Christianity, as revealed in Holy Scripture.
Our Vision Giving every student in Aberystwyth an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ. How do we encourage our CU members to behave in their day to day lives? By being anchored in the Holy word of God and living consistently in the light of it. (1 Timothy 3:16) By praying without ceasing both collectively and individually. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) By being sent out and supported both by Churches at home and in Aberystwyth. (Hebrews 10:25) By living grace filled, obedient lives. (1 Peter 1:15-16).
